Salvador Sobral presents an open rehearsal of his new album of Brazilian songs: “A Flor do Recomeço” Acclaimed Portuguese singer and Eurovision winner Salvador Sobral presents his first album featuring exclusively Brazilian compositions. Titled A Flor do Recomeço (The Flower of Beginning Again), the album was recorded in São Paulo and produced by Brazilian Grammy-winning producers Marcus Preto and Tó Brandileone. It is scheduled for release in the second half of the year. The album features a stellar selection of unreleased songs written especially for Sobral by renowned artists including Adriana Calcanhotto, Arnaldo Antunes, Chico César, Céu, Marcelo Camelo, Mallu Magalhães, Marcos Valle, and Tim Bernardes. The title comes from a poem by writer Eveline Sin, with music by Chico César. The album is further enriched by the participation of two legendary artists in memorable duets: Ney Matogrosso —a living legend and one of the most transgressive, visceral, and powerful stage performers in the history of Brazilian popular music, with an unmistakable countertenor voice and a true icon of artistic freedom— and Dora Morelenbaum, one of the most dazzling voices of the new wave of MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) and a member of the acclaimed quartet Bala Desejo, with whom she won the Latin Grammy for Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese in 2022. For Sobral, this project represents a deeply personal journey back to his musical roots.
