FREE ENTRY LISTENING SESSION WITH RENY BAO 包峻睿 Saxophone · Voice · Composition Reny Bao is one of the emerging young voices of contemporary Chinese jazz. Trained in Shanghai and New York, he has performed at major festivals across Asia, Europe, and the United States, and has collaborated with prominent international artists. Winner of the Best Original Jazz Composition Award at the Shanghai Jazz Competition, he combines saxophone, voice, and composition in a musical approach that connects jazz, Chinese tradition, and new sonic landscapes. In 2025, he released his first vocal jazz album, Half Live Recording at JZ Club. A unique opportunity to discover contemporary Chinese jazz up close and hear one of its emerging new voices. Listening session moderated by Jan-Erik Grothe Jan-Erik Grothe is a music producer, record editor, and cultural entrepreneur. As Director of Club del Disco Europa, he has driven the label’s international expansion from Barcelona, promoting jazz, tango, and roots music artists across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. A record collector since 1975 and passionate about hi-fi and music production, he combines his experience in the record industry with an international perspective on the vinyl and recorded music market. His work focuses on discovering new talent, developing publishing projects, and bringing music to new audiences through experiences that combine listening, knowledge, and culture. At Club del Disco listening sessions, he shares the historical and artistic context of the recordings, stories and anecdotes about record production, and his perspective on jazz and contemporary music as an international producer and record editor.
