With 25 years of experience, Altertango has established itself as one of the most influential bands in contemporary tango. Their unmistakable sound and overwhelming energy have transcended borders, reaffirming their place as one of the most innovative proposals on the scene. Recognized by the press and the public as an undisputed reference in current tango, the group merges the tradition of tango with influences from rock, jazz, and popular Argentine music. Led by pianist and composer Elbi Olalla, Altertango has developed an artistically evolving proposal. In their concerts, they combine their own hits like "Conspiración," "Jardín del desierto," and "Milonga del borde" with works from the popular Argentine repertoire, consolidating their own identity within the contemporary scene. Throughout their career, they have released eight albums, from "Altertango I" (2002) to "En Vivo 20 años" (2023). They have brought their music to stages in Argentina and around the world, becoming a reference in current tango. "La saga dels marges" is Altertango's new work, an album conceived as a meeting space between different traditions, territories, and musical sensibilities. Divided into three chapters, "La suite ADN," "La suite del Raval," and "La suite de l’Arrabal," the project celebrates friendship and multiple collaborations with musicians from 21st-century tango, while recovering the original spirit of the genre as a point of intersection between diverse cultures.
